Task Description
You are 18 and you finally get to exercise your right to vote! Before you vote, you must decide where you stand on the issue of capital punishment. In order to make an informed decision, you will first research both sides of the question and evaluate the information you find. After you have arrived at your decision and are ready to take a stand, you will exercise two additional constitutional rights-- the right to free speech and the right to assemble. You will complete a nicely crafted argument in support of your side of the capital punishment issue in the form of a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. You will also make a poster and design a tee shirt to wear at to at a rally that you plan to attend before you vote. Follow this link to begin your activities.
